Tatyana, adopted from Russia at the age of 6, was born with spina bifida, and is now an eight-time World Champion, recorder holder in the World and USA in 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m track events and has won the Chicago and New York marathons. She has also been the impetus behind the first law of equal access in high school sports (which is now in 11 other states). She recently was 5 for 5 medals (4 gold, 1 bronze) at the World Championship. You can read more about her story here.
