Earlier today we received this text from Pittsburgh with the children being adopted by U.S. families. This is the first group of children that landed in the U.S. after receiving humanitarian parole. It is just another reason that a plan for a safe haven in Haiti including appropriate escorts and medical triage/treatment upon arrival in the U.S. is needed.
“Some kids, especially older ones, are traumatized because they are not allowed to see their parents. USCIS and ICE (Immigration & Customs Enforcement) just did a meeting for the families. They said no one’s going home today. Another meeting is set for 6.”
7:00 came and went with no meeting.
